Let your personal stories flow

I am so excited to share my magic world of mixed media art with you in this very personal class. After many years of running in-person workshops and on-line classes, I really wanted to do something personal!

When I paint on my own in my studio, I very seldom have a picture in my head of what I am going to do. I most often work on several pieces at the same time and I usually start with collage and then mark making with different tools and supply. I then slowly feel what each piece would like to be and the stories the pieces wants to tell me.

I work back and forth between several pieces at the same time and as soon as I get stuck on one of them I move over to work on another piece. By doing this I can explore and create totally free from any requirements to perform or to achieve a result. I can just feel, find and explore colors, marks and images. I work intuitively and I very seldom get blocked when working in this way. My process is unstructured, tactile and messy and it helps me create magic!!

This class is all about listening to our inner voice, to be inspired by our ancestors and finding out what stories wants to be told. I start with gathering inspiration in photos, pictures, fabric, lace and by creating collage material. I will use different techniques such as collage, different mark making techniques, photo transfer and embellishment with stitches and writing. My work will expand and grow as we go! This process has created magic for me many times and I’m so excited to see what you can do with it! I am trying to share the energy and flow of this creative process and I hope it will inspire you to find your own stories!
